About Lucan Toastmasters

We are a club of volunteers that come together to practice and develop in the art of speaking. Founded in 1983 the club has an excellent track record of success at local, national, and international competition levels. We are over 40 years in existence.  Since we launched, Lucan Toastmasters has helped hundreds of people improve what is one of the greatest fears in life – speaking in public.

Lucan Toastmasters affords members the opportunity to develop the art of speaking in public, build confidence, learn, practice and further develop these skills while sharing time with like-minded people in an enjoyable and fun environment. It also helps to build leadership skills and grow in friendship.

The author Charles Handy states that the most important intelligence that we have is our “social intelligence” i.e. how we communicate, how we influence and persuade others.

​

Toastmasters’ International caters for both, an investment in yourself and an improvement in your communication skills whilst having fun. The only qualification you need to join is to be 18 years of age or over and if you’re 95 or older you need a letter from your parents!!!
